You'd think I was having an Apple love fest (or hate fest as the case may be). Truth is, there's a bunch of stuff going on with the platform these days. Have you even seen the news that Apple may be doing something with the good folks at Verizon Wireless for some LTE goodness? I guess there's however one area of enterprise mobility that I haven't talked about in a while that somehow made me think about the iPhone. No, it's not mobile device management. For a change, let's actually talk about the other thing the CIO cares about. Security. Oh ya, that thing.

You're probably asking yourself "what the heck is Philippe thinking this time???" I'll admit, I may have gotten a little too much sun today on the golf course - I may also be giddy that the Red Sox are doing quite well this weekend against the New York Yankees.
No, I have not lost my mind. I actually was thinking back to the days where the "Golden Arches" used to say on their sign "Over 1 Billion Sold." Well, I usually don't go to McDonald's - not because I don't like the taste of the food, but rather because I don't think it's good quality or good for you. See where I am going now?

I'll be honest with you. I am tired of making excuses as to why I have not been writing more frequently on this blog. It's gone from bad to absurd. The project I am working on is coming to a close (REAL SOON) and that will free up a ton of time and remove even more pressure for me. I feel a little like the Tazmanian Devil from Looney Tunes.
In any case, I'm always scowering the web for any interesting news regarding enterprise mobility. I found this article on Mobile Enterprise Magazine that made me stop and think about what mobile device management really is.

So I found a wonderfully interesting article a few days ago on Information Week that had me thinking about the future of Windows Mobile 6.5. As we know, Windows Mobile 6.5 was announced at CES, and there have since then been other announcements including the wonderfully catchy, rolls off the tip of your tongue Windows Marketplace for Mobile app store. As far as we know, the latest incarnation of Windows Mobile is scheduled to be available on handsets around Q3 of this year, with Windows Mobile 7 anticipated less than a year later. So should Microsoft just get the OS out now?

So I have finally recovered from CTIA. I'll hopefully throw some comments up on the site regarding my impressions of this year's Spring CTIA, but suffice it to say that it was a lot lighter this year than previous years. Not surprising, of course, given the general state of the economy. So it's Tuesday, and I have finally gotten over the jet lag and caught up on all the things I could not get to in the 5th Dimension better known as Las Vegas. I find Vegas so surreal...so much fun and yet so over the top to the point that after three days, I am done. That said, it is heavenly. You know what they have in heaven? Clouds. Ugh, shoot me now for THE worst segue EVER.
