Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of Inside Looking Out. I can't believe I just wrote that...2009 has just flown by! In any case, this past week, I spoke with Vivek Thomas, CEO of Maximizer Software, a Vancouver, BC based CRM software house.
I first spoke with Vivek a few weeks ago when I was introduced to his company's mobile CRM application. I really enjoyed speaking to him to get a sense of how he feels mobility is evolving. We decided to sit down last week and have him be interviewed by yours truly.

Welcome to the latest edition of Inside Looking Out. This past week, I spoke with Lee Williams. As the Executive Director for The Symbian Foundation, Lee needs no introduction. Lee has been in tech and mobility for a long time now, having also spent time at companies like Be, Palm and Nokia before joining Symbian.
I first spoke with Lee a few weeks ago when he was doing a whirlwind tour of the US right before the Symbian Exchange and Expo. I do not envy that travel schedule. We followed up that meeting this past week with a phone chat. If you saw a recent interview he gave, you'll get a sense of how the conversation went.

Welcome to the latest edition of Inside Looking Out. This past week, I spoke with Franck DELORME. Why did I put his last name in all caps? That's because that's what you do with French last names! Franck is the CEO at Sparus Software, a leading device management solution provider in France.
I first spoke with Franck a couple of months ago, and I'll admit to you that I was slightly worried about that first call. If only for the sake of first impressions, I wanted to do the entire call in French, but I wasn't sure if I actually knew all the technical words of our space in French. In the end, that first call went great, but I did get off the phone and blew a huge sigh of relief!
I spoke with Franck again this past week - this time in English - and we had a very interesting conversation about mobility management in Europe.

Welcome to the latest edition of Inside Looking Out. This past week, I spoke with Sandeep Bhanote. Sandeep is CEO at Global Bay Global Bay has been developing mobile applications since 2002, so they definitely understand the realities and opportunities of the space.
While I have known of Global Bay for quite some time, I only met Sandeep a few months ago. All I can say is that when I first met him, we spent as much time laughing as talking about enterprise mobility. Somehow, that seems to have become a pattern every time I speak to him. That makes working that much more fun. I sat down with Sandeep last week - check it out after the jump.

Welcome to the latest edition of Inside Looking Out. This past week, I spoke with Cliff Cibelli. Alan is a manager at
Verizon. Cliff works in the Managed Network Services team - an ex MCI guy.
You might be asking yourself "Why Verizon and not Verizon WIRELESS"? Well, I met Cliff just a couple of weeks ago when he came to the office to talk about that very topic: the new partnership that Verizon created with Sybase and Quickcomm. Needless to say, that started an interesting coversation that continued this past week and which is summarized after the jump

QuickOffice. If you've been in this space for a while, then QuickOffice needs no introduction - they are the leading third party provider of MS Office compatibility solutions for mobile devices.
I've known Alan for about 18 months now, and while we do keep in touch, I must admit, it had been a while since I had spoken to him last. He and I got to sit down last week and talk about a broad array of subjects.

For better or for worse, this guy's been there and done that, and boy does he know the who's who.
